The Waldgasthof Altersbach in the black forest area of Germany is a hidden gem. Located at the bottom of Kandel Mountain, the hotel offers breathtaking scenery and plenty of outdoor activities for families. We were delighted to borrow sleds from the hotel family and enjoy a fun-filled day in the snow. The cozy rooms and affordable prices made our stay comfortable and budget-friendly. Additionally, the hotel's restaurant served divine food all day, allowing us to satisfy our hunger even at odd hours. We felt like part of the family thanks to the warm and welcoming hosts. The attention to detail in the decor, including a festive Christmas tree, added to the cozy ambiance. If you are a nature lover seeking a relaxing and family-oriented experience, this hotel is the perfect choice.
Nothing to improve, everything was perfect.

This cozy hotel was such an amazing surprise during our city trip. The family running it was so friendly, they made us feel like we were at home. The location was perfect, as it was only a short drive away from the main shopping area and key landmarks. We were able to book a room with a breathtaking view and the breakfast was so hearty and delicious, including fresh fruit and homemade pastries.
Although the room was a bit outdated and no air conditioner was provided, the beautiful surroundings and hospitality more than made up for it. The internet connection was a bit slow, but honestly, we were too busy enjoying the scenery anyways.

What a gem of a hotel! the location is perfect, nestled in the heart of the Black Forest area. the food is simply amazing, with local specialties and an extensive wine list. the staff could not be more welcoming and helpful, making me feel like a valued guest. the rooms are cozy and comfortable, with all the amenities I needed for my business trip. Free Wi-Fi was reliable and efficient. And the views! Wow! I could see the forest and hear the birds singing all day long. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.
the only thing that could be a concern for some is that the road leading to the hotel can be a bit curvy and steep, but that just adds to the charm of the location.
